Aldridge wanted to transfer last year
If it were up to Nick Aldridge he would have transferred to UC from Western Carolina at the end of last season, which would have made him eligible to play for the Bearcats at the start of the 2008-09 season rather than having to wait until the end of fall quarter.
"I wanted to leave and they weren’t going to let me do that after the freshman year that I had,” Aldridge told me today. “Things kind of settled down so I went back to Western and then I ultimately ended up leaving anyway."
Aldridge said he never actually asked for his release last year. "I just figured I wasn't going to get it. I didn't want to press the issue and hurt my chances to play there."

Don't care if Nick transfers this year, next or year after. In a good program he is a 7-9th man on the roster.
I guess that explains what the "conduct problems" were at WCU. If I'm a coach and a player doesn't want to be there then why make him wait another year?
Thanks for sharing the wisdom, Carnack.
18 ppg anywhere in Division I translates into a player who can make a difference on an emerging team like UC. Many programs would love to have a seventh man like Aldridge -- just ask Syracuse from last night.
Does it always take hours for posts to show up now...or is it that noone is posting because nobody cares???

What is your point? Good programs need a 7th man, don't they?
I know this UC team needs someone who averaged over 18 points a game in D-1 his Freshman year.
The point is that UC does not have the complete 1-6 roster spots filled with 1-6 talent.
Got it figured out yet?

Pay attention genius. It's moderated; Josh's blog wasn't. The posts only show up after the moderator (Bill) approves them. So, when he's busy doing anything else, your little nuggets of wisdom will just have to wait.

Got it figured out yet? Three 2-4 rated talented players and Four 7+ talent players still leaves players rated 7 playing in the 1-5 rated spots.
Love the condescending barbs of some of the folks here...
what losers. Interet jerks are an impressive lot, aren't they?

Next year's roster:
1. Williams, Rivals 20
2. McClain, Rivals 56
3. Wilks, Rivals 68
4. Wright, Rivals 73
5. Gates, Rivals 80
6. Mitchell, Rivals 112
7. Bishop, Rivals 135
That's 5 guys in Rivals Top 80, 7 guys in Rivals Top 135.
Not including Deonta Vaughn, the team's current best player. Larry Davis also figures to improve and contribute.
I have not done the research, but I think you would be hard-pressed to find a UC team not recruited by Mick with 5 players in the Top 80 or 7 players in the Top 135. Next year's team is very talented. Still young, but talented.
You track the rivals star ratings. I'll track the caliber of play on the court.
I think court play determines who wins or loses and not your rating scheme to sell subscriptions.

And what D-I school do YOU recruit for? Oh, I bet you are just another loser living at home in his mom's garage.....Party on Garth
As the man once said "Can't we all just get along?"
If you watch UC run offense, other than Vaughn who is a consistent scorer? You can't have too many guys that put the ball in the hole.
You must be an Oscar R fan. Only an NBA player has a valid opinion on professional sports? See where that lapse landed Furman's job.
Please enough of your fixation with your mom. Get over it. We all get weaned off breast feeding. You're creepy!
