Cronin not finished recruiting
Bobby Maze, a first-team All-American selection this past season at Hutchinson (Kan.) Community College, has scheduled a visit to UC, perhaps as soon as this weekend. Maze, a 6-3 combo guard, averaged 20.7 points and 6.8 assists during the one season he played at Hutchinson. He spent his freshman season at Oklahoma, where he started at point guard in five of the Sooners' last six games before transferring to Hutchinson. He averaged 5.6 points and 2.1 assists at Oklahoma.

Post a Comment*Thanks, Bill for the update. Mick did not send out his usual end of signing period press release so I guessed he might still be recruiting. Bodies should not be a problem for the Bearcats next season with or without this JC player. I hope you can give us a few posts later on regarding how these guys do in the summer league play.

First time to join you guys. Too excited to be silent and wait for new season. Our Cats and fans shall join the "March Maddess" 2009 with or w/o Bobby Maze. But, if Mick can get him, we can end up to top 25 this time next year. "Go Mick and Cats!" from Down Under.
How many scholarships does UC have? 20?
Who is the next contestant to leave? 'Thanks son, but you are no longer needed here'.
Is mick creating his own gameshow of "Scholly or No Scholly?"?

Would someone have to be released from their scholarship to make room for him? If so, who would that be?
If Maze or anyone else signs with UC, Mick would be one over the scholarship limit, assuming that Alvin Mitchell, who remains on suspension, returns next season. But Mick is not necessarily getting rid of anyone. Remember, Western Carolina transfer Nick Aldridge might not need a scholarship because he pays in-state tuition and is eligible for Pell Grant money.
