Padgett likely to play against UC

After Louisville's win over Iona on Saturday, Rick Pitino said there was a 50-50 chance that center David Padgett, who's been out since fracturing his kneecap on Nov. 18, would play agaisnt UC. Mick Cronin figures it's closer to 100 percent.
"We both like the horses and if anybody wants to make a bet, I'm betting on Padgett playing this game," Cronin said
At this point, it seems a pretty safe bet. Pitino said today that Padgett would practice in the afternoon, "then we'll make a game-time decision. If I do play him it obviously won't be any more than 35 minutes."
He was apparently joking about the 35 minutes, but Cronin wasn't laughing.

Hey Welcome! Thanks for the update on David I am sure he will play and it seems like just our luck that his first game back is us!

Padgett has been a continual pain-in-the-side for UC fans. Just lovely that he's decided to come back for our game.

This will be an interesting test for our young guys. Not nearly as painful to play against as Miami, but a lot more dangerous all over the floor. If we can keep our intensity up and if we can consistently produce offense -- no five minute droughts -- we could have a chance for the upset. As has been the case surprisingly often for the last 2-3 years under Pitino, Louisville looks like it has a lot more talent than chemistry at this point.

Louisville is our real natural rival, in the league, the region and the games have often decided a championship.

Hopefully the Bearcats will bring their recent intensity to the game. We don't want to be embarrassed by a lackluster effort.

The talent may need to be developed but the work effort must be there if UC is to succeed.

Welcome to the world of blogging...glad to see the enquirer feels that the UC blog is worthwhile to keep after they dismantled a great group of sports writers.

GO BEARCATS!

ESPN didn't exactly do UC any favors having them play UL at Freedom Hall for their only game on ESPN. Billy Don

Does anyone know of a free UC Blog and open forum where the moderator does not delete posts?

Hey Bill! Thanks for picking up the slack for UC blogging. All we ask is that you be objective and not hypercritical, especially as the BB program rebuilds.
As said before you will find a lot of UC supporters on this blog and for those of us (me included) who are from out of the area its our one source of connection to Cincinnati.
The 2007 football season was beyond phenomenal, and we are now both a BB and a FB school. I hope the Enquirer is genuine in recognizing Bearcat Fans are a force to be reckoned with. We ain't little bro to the o$u snobs; we are as BK says Cincinnati's team and I would hope that Cincinnati's now-only paper will respect that.

GO BEARCATS!
