Ron Allen sighting

Saw Ron Allen walking through the halls at Fifth Third Arena on crutches today. Ron said he sprained his ankle last Wednesday while playing for Sioux Falls in the NBA Development League. Said he'd be out for about three weeks, but since Sioux Falls released him after he got hurt he'll likely have to find a new team to pick him up. He was averaging 2.7 points and 1.4 rebounds in 15 games.

Gosh, hope Sioux Falls can get by without that bucket and rebound Hurricane Ron was giving them. I've got them in my NBDL fantasy league.

Great to see that Ron Allen is his consistent old self in the Development League. He's at Fifth Third Arena? Then he'll be glad to see that Adam H. is doing an admirable job filling in for him at UC this year...LOL

Damn... Tough crowd. It's not like Allen was the weak link, he got an opportunity that he wouldn't have gotten anywhere else. He proved to be a good guy. It's not like there were a bunch of McDonalds AA guys available and we took Allen expecting triple doubles...

WOW!
Has Ron Allen done something illegal to deserve these sarcastic rips?
What deserves more respect -- working hard to fulfill a dream of playing pro basketball or tossing insults from a keyboard?

Who?

I'd like to see those guys play 21 with Ron Allen one on one.

Wow guys! Let's all jump on the Ron Allen bandwagon. He was, at best, a very average player and likely will ALWAYS be. The next thing is you will be promoting the Adam H. to the NBA dreams...LOL

Adam Hryanciuk will probably play pro BB in Europe like Nick Williams and other Bearcats. I don't think Adam will go to Japan like Bobby Brandon. Dreams die hard. Let them live.

To be honest, if the guy was good enough to get on the roster of a NBADL roster why did little micky have him on the bench at UC where there was nobody at all who could play at that level?

Last word on Ron Allen that I hope ever gets published:

On the depth chart, he was behind Conner Barwin.

I'd play him in H O R S E not 21 he could make lay ups on me all day but he can't shoot. NBDL = not much

Ron Allen is a great guy. He is no longer on the team so let it go.

Hey Anon 3:44

Billy Boy brought up Ron Allen - we didn't. Honestly, many of us have for the most part forgotten he once wore a UC jersey. Let's all move on to REAL BB players. They're yopung ones, but we have some. GO BEARCATS!!!!
