UC 62, Pitt 59- final score

Rashad Bishop blocked a Keith Benjamin 3-pointer in the closing seconds. Benjamin got the ball back and fired it up again, but was well short as the final horn sounded.

looks like another win for mick. He has really got this team playing hard. If they could get the shots to fall more, they will do well the rest of the season.

Maybe this will shut up all the haters out there. If not, they should just move to west virginia.

Hard to criticize a victory over another ranked team. However, some of the decisions down the stretch almost cost this game - one that should have been put away. Good overall effort though! GO BEARCATS!!!

Time to give the man and his team some credit. They lost to Belmont and BG at home...lost BAD to UAB and Illinois State...and they kept fighting to get better. Now they are a completely different team. Villanova, Louisville, Syracuse, and Pitt???

It's getting quiet around here for the whiners!!

Great win by the Cats. Good to see some defensive improvement and effort. Hopefully this will continue for the rest of the season. Like a previous poster said some of the decisions almost cost them the game, however the Defensive effort is whatpulled it through in the end. Now if they could just keep people in front of them and run some simblance of a offensive set. I'd be much happier. Gratz to Mick the the rest of the Cats.

I cannot believe my eyeballs.

Three beers to Sippin' Mick and the boys for having some fight in them. Really amazing. They don't have much talent on this team but not even the biggest Cronin whiner can question their heart and resolve.

The ESPN guy called this 'a good Cincinnati team"....

MIck has done a whale of a job getting these kids that other teams overlooked to buy in.

The elite Big East teams want no part of the Cats, especially at home. This year, considering the start of the season and how it went, I'll take that.

this team is living large - catching teams at the right time and doing enough to win.

go Cats!

Looks like Adam H.had a good game. Maybe some of the true believers won't boo him next time he comes on the court.

8:17 they are a different team because of jamal warren. he is a very underrated point gaurd that directs this teams defense also. if we would have had him this team would be 12-6 instead of 9-9

A win is a win. However, there is a lot to learn from this game. They nearly crumbled in the final minutes. They had this thing blown out at the 6:07 mark but then sloppy play nearly cost them this game.

Adam H had his best game of the year.

Go Cats. The future is getting brighter.

Big win for Bearcats and coach Cronin.

Mark of a good coach is how team continues to progress as the season progresses. No doubt MC is proving his ability to coach in BE.

Future looks bright for Bearcat BB.

Not far away is the Bearcat Fan Loyalty Test - Huggs W.Va. team vs. Bearcats at Morgantown on Jan. 30 - How many of you will secretly be rooting for Huggs? Hopefully only a small minority.

Once again, Bill, the day after a game you have to check this more than every 12 hours. I'm learning to stop coming here after games because this blog is not where it's at at those times. Maybe ever, now.

The crowd size of 10,500 is now back to what it was in the last year Bob was here, amazing but good to see.

15 hours after the game and only 5 postings. I hope all of you out there waiting to see the tread are excited about this game as I am.

posted this at half time... but more appropriate to end of game.

woulda/shoulda criticism seems to be all that some posters seem to make.. hugs and andy are gone... probably for the better for both of them.

why even bring this up? hugs was great... but never got uc a nc... as for the uc president.. she made a decision... which is her right... so live with it... seems to me the sports programs are evolving on a national level... which was not the case earlier except for the bb team which seemed to always falter when tournament time came around.

Don't give NZ too much credit for the football program. The football team has been improving over the past 8-10 years. Look at the number of bowl games over the past 6 years. Mark Dantonio really started this current team. Yes, BK did bring an offense to it and he modified the D to allow for the improved take-aways. But do not underestimate UC's addmission to the BE to some of this success.

The B-ball team still needs a couple of more years before they actually contend for the top fourth of the league but it is comming around.

Give much of the credit to Goins (and maybe even huggs) for getting into the BE and the improved facilities.
