UC 69, Nova 66 - final
Rashad Bishop made a 3-pointer with 20.9 seconds left to give UC a 68-66 lead. Nova's Corey Fisher was fouled, but missed the front end of the bonus. Williamson rebounded for UC. He was fouled. He made one of two free throws. Reynolds' 3-pointer at the buzzer was no good.

WAY TO GO BEARCATS!!!!!
You looked good down here in Tennessee.
Maybe this win will keep the "Sippin Mick" crowd quiet for awhile.
CONGRATS!!!
Come on Bearcat and Cronin haters, open wide and have a big spoon full of crow.
This team is playing with an intensity and focus that reminds you of the year under Andy Kennedy. Guess that means Mick can coach a little bit too, huh?
The guy is doing one helluva job. I've supported him all along, but even I didn't think he would be this good this early. The game preparation he and his staff is putting in place for this team is absolutely first-rate.
Great game by the cats. Very nice effort - this team is really starting to come around.
Any updates on the Hula Bowl? I (like most people) don't get Versus. I heard that Angelo Craig is having a MONSTER day and is getting huge praise from the announcers. Updates would be great!
Man, where are all the X fans and "sippin Mick" posters? Guess they went back under the baseboard with the rest of the cockroaches.
Great effort UC!!!
Mick Cronin is settling into his job quite nicely, and I expect nothing but good things from this team in the future.

Anon 9:54pm you played a great game tonight. You predicted Micks success from day one. Congratulations and keep it up.
I can't believe that the Bearcats won tonight. It's Nancy Zimpher's fault. She's terrible. How did she let this happen. Oh, wait a minute....
Big win for Sippin' Mick and his team. I have to give him credit. He seems to be getting it done lately. I just hope it continues.
Should be interesting to see how the team responds on the road and then against two more tough teams at home.
Good to see Mitchell scoring some points. Hopefully he cna build on the performance. Vaughn playing more aggressive, and Williamson crashing the boards hard like he did at Cincinnati State.
The defense has obviously been better most of the time for a while now, and the offense seems to be getting in synch some, though I'm not sure we'll score a ton of points often this year.
Sippin' Mick - my confidence in you has been built a great deal.
That was a great win by the Bearcats! It seems the young players are gradually learning how to play in these close games and win! It's also great to see a little bit of that old home court advantage return to the Shoe.
Bill, do you have any post-game nuggets you can share with us readers on this blog? The score updates are great, but I find myself craving for more...
Way to go Bearcats! I'm very impressed by this win.
Bill, nice job on keeping people updated throughout the game. It's appreciated.
I know it's the middle of the season, but I would love to see some articles updating the team's recruiting status for the upcoming years. How many scholarships are open? What positions are we targeting? How does Aldridge's arrival effect who we are going after?
Rumors are out there that Mitchell wants to transfer. I hope that's not the case, and I think his big minutes tonight are a sign that Cronin wants him to stay as well. He's probably like a few other strong-willed players we've had in the past that thought about quitting. (Eric Kicks comes to mind.)
Cheers!
Congrats to Bearcats - a really big win for them and coach Cronin.
A good test of coaching skill is how a team improves as the season progresses. Just as Matta and coach Miller have shown that skill at X, Cronin is doing the same at UC.
Bearcats have to be gaining confidence. Difficult task for Bearcats as for all teams is winning on the road so game with the Irish will be test of teams improvement. But the future does look brighter.
A bid this yr to NIT seems likely and will give UC a chance to build more confidence.
Too bad we let the St. John's game get away. Could you even think of 4-0 at this time. Well, can you even believe 3-1 at this point?
We are not going to be sneaking up on anyone for the rest of the season. Teams will be ready to play UC and will not overlook us.
Maybe NIT is in the cards this year.
It seems to me that these guys need to work on free throws. If they could make some in the first half, it would not have been a close game.
Great game Bearcats. However please make your free throws, 17-30 is not good.
FYI I went to Cadillac Ranch, with about 1 minute remaining in the UC game, and every TV had Pats-Jags on. When I asked about putting the game on those HS dropouts looked at me like I was Hannibal. I don't like bars where they hired help thinks everything is about them.
UC has exceeded my BE expectations already for this year. Hopefully, some big time recruits start getting interested in the program again.
Seems that MC's master plan is starting to payoff.
Anyone who thinks that Mick will not have this team near or at the top of the Big east in the next few years clearly doesn't know what the hell they are talking about. He is a good coach and getting better by the game and a great recruter. Thanks for all you've done Coach and for breathing life back into UC basketball again.
Great Win!
Is there anyone else here that feels much more confident about Mick making the right adjustments after halftime....Huggs was always out coached in the second half.
IF uc BB wins a few more games I may start watching the games again. Then, I'll share my expertise with you. Too early though to get on the BandWagon.
