Ring of Red games

From the UC athletic department: Fans attending the UC men's game vs. Marquette and the UC women's game vs. Notre Dame on Saturday at Fifth Third Arena are asked to wear red to show support for the Bearcats in a Ring of Red game. The men's game starts at noon, the women's game at 3.

Perhaps Coach Cronin could wear a bright red suit borrowed from Biggie McClain with red shoes. He would look something like a big red chili pepper running loose on the sidelines. Something like Bob Huggins. He looked like a giant fat greasy sardine, packed in mustard. He actually got his suit from B.J. Grove (thats why the pants were so long).

Ring of Red for men's BB sounds wussy.
Is this for today's female heart awareness or this to avoid the big bad impression of wearing BLACK?

FWIW, Sagarin is now rating Cincy's schedule to date as the 5th toughest in the nation. Marquette can only make that get even tougher.

"Ring of Red for men's BB sounds wussy".
Actually the "Ring OF Red" is meant for the 2 or 3 hundred friends and relatives who will stick around to watch the women's game. Or possibly as a tribute to Ms Zimpher's hideous look. She and Bob Huggins do have one thing in common. They share the same fashion adviser.

sorry to change the subject but i was wondering - What kind of coverage can we expect from the enquirer next Wednesday for national signing day? I know that UC has a full day of activities planned - both public and limited to the media. This should be UC's best recruiting class ever.

thanks -

CSA, again you are wrong. The Ring of Red for UC MENS' basketball has been around for quite a while now.

The Ring of Red games have only been around since 2002, but they are designated for the mens' games.

Call it what you want for how long you want. Let's just win another!

1:59, Ask rickNmd what to call it. He knows everything!

Doesn't that piss off the women, if the the ring of red is only for the men's basketball?
Who da hell cares when the ring of red was started or if it is for men or women?
Personally I think it is a bunch of nonsense, but if you kiddies like it, then go for it. I do wanna see Mick in his bright red suit with red shoes.

WOW...CSA gave his approval. How lucky we all are!! Thanks, dad!

There you go again, Cheviot Sports Authority. Didn't I warn you earlier about the calvary attack? You and others are only allowed to say things pro-Nancy, pro-Mick, pro-BOT and pro-anything the calvary members approve. Don't say you weren't warned about the petite censorship committee monitoring this blog.

I personally don't give a rat's about anyone abusing Nancy or the BOT. However, you might want to examine what Mick's done before you get to critical. He came along AFTER all of this garbage went down. And he's cleaning it up.

Are you calling Mick a garbage man?
I believe the PC term is now Sanitary Engineer.

I'm pro-Bearcat and my main hope for restoration of the BB program is Mick. If he fails, then we'll get somebody else, so until then I'm pro-Mick. 99% of us are. The other 1% post more often.

Good Lord Red. Give the guy credit for seeing the future that this program was heading downhill fast. Dan Peters did too, so he left for OSU.

Red, who are you talking about? Huggins who left K-State the same way?

I'm proBearcat also and I believe that Mick has this team moving in the right direction. That doesn't mean that I blindly follow him. When he makes an error in judgement (we all do), I'm not afraid to point it out. Case in point is the Wilks situation. I don't completely agree with it, but I'm still in general in support of Mick. What bothers me is that anytime anything is stated short of 100% in favor of Mick, the Mick defenders come out. And this does not include defending him from Sippin', Lil', Mickie and the such. That's simply trash talk and offensive. All said and done, if any of us would have been saddled with the mess he got, this team likely wouldn't be near where it is today. So far, Mick overall gets high mark. Now, let's see a W over Marquette tomorrow!

You would never know who I was talking about, would you? I got censored again. That is amazing. I didn't use anyone's name or use any profanity. Guess we know who butters Mr Koch's bread.

I don't believe that Peters took off in the middle of night and let Huggins find about his departure from the media. To me that is huge difference.

Red, looks like the not so ready to be petite censorship committee nailed you. Isn't it great to live in a 'free' country. And yes, I'm braced for the usual verbal onslaught.

4:36 Anon,
Why are you bracing for a verbal onslaught? You're an anonymous guy/gal who didn't say anything.

UC = UNLV East

...Or maybe not - UNLV has cleaned up its act, has a winning record, & has made the NCAA tourney last year.
