Mike Williams update
Mike Williams is making progress in his recovery from the ruptured Achilles tendon that sidelined him before the season started. He says he's been doing some light running for about a week, but does not anticipate returning later this season. A front line of Williams, Anthony McClain and incoming freshamn Yancy Gates looks pretty good for next year, though.

That is great news for Mike. We could have really used him this year. Next year, he will have been out of the game for two years. Let's hope the layoff does not make him too rusty.
That frontline with Vaughn and Cash will bring this team to the top 25 by the end of next season.
Censorship at its finest. Too many postings from the previous updates.
Is it me or are there a whole lot of unranked teams playing on New Years Eve and Day? Why do they not take the top 24 ranked teams and pair them off 1-2, 3-4, 5-6, 7-8, etc. Then put the other 40 teams where ever they want?
You see unranked teams on New Year's day because merit has nothing to do with what bowl you get. It's all politics and money. A 6-6 Big ten team would beat out a 12-0 UC team everytime.
I can't believe the bowl affiliations that the Big 10 has. Not a bad bowl for any of the 7-8 teams in bowls. This stinks. With the Big 10 dropping every year in conference ratings, any chance that the Big East might pick up a few of those bowls?
I know, those teams have tradition and big fan followings. Gotta sell out Nippert and travel better.
Go Cats!
Williams and Gates may not be enough. We lose Sikes, Adam and Williamson and will have less depth in the post. MC may have to sub Belton for Biggie next year.
Bill,
Any word on Mike's eligibility? Will he get a redshirt year?

Mike Williams can't apply for the extra year until after his current eligibility runs out, which will be after next season.
