McClain surgery
Mick Cronin confirmed after the game that Anthony McClain will have surgery on Friday to remove a bone spur from the top of the foot that bothered him all season. McClain needs to have a productive summer if he's going to help this team next year. He nees to get stronger and he needs to work on his footwork. It all starts withi him getting healthy.

Bill, do you know how long the recovery will take?
Will be interesting to monitor his progression next year under Mick.
He and Thabeet were both rated four-star recruits, and Thabeet improved a great deal in his second year under Calhoun's coaching.
We'll see if Mick's up to snuff.
I remember watching Thabeet last year and he was not much different from Biggie this year . . . slow, awkward, confused and mostly ineffective. What a difference a year makes.
If McClain gets healthy and works hard, Mick will turn him into a player.
This team will be fun to watch next year and will be a force the year after that.
I just don't see Kenyon Martin type development out of "Biggie." But I hope he works hard on his body and his game and proves me wrong. If you're consistently outplayed by Adam H., you've got some work to do.
Bill
Do you have any sense that UC is finished recruiting for next year? Are the commitments that we already have all we are going to get or could there possibly be others?
Thanks.
I hated hugg's offensive style/scheme. It was boorrinngg.
but I did enjoy watching his teams play defense, hustle, and dive after basketballs.
Cronin's players do not dive after loose basketballs on the floor which is a very visible sign of lack of interest, effort, and coaching. Effort has nothing to do with talent.
I still do not believe Biggie will start next year. The frontcourt should be Gates and Williams with Williams playing post defense on the other teams best post player.
