White death has lead over UC

UC's flight to Hartford tonight has been cancelled, so what happens to that 4 p.m. game tomorrow at UConn remains to be seen. Right now, the team is exploring its options in conjunction with the league office.

Postpone it. GA Tech had game postponed recently because of rain and rescheduled. The roof leaked.

The JUCO Seniors are hoping to forfeit the game vs. UCONN. If I were Mick I would start all Freshman and Vaughn.

Although none of the posts on this topic seem negative, everyone needs to check out Dan Hoard's column on this years team - it is column 47 under Heard it from Hoard. He hits the nail right on the head!

Here's an excerpt of the column that Danny C. is referring to:

"Anyone who doesn't think that Mick has done a remarkable job of rebuilding the program in his short tenure is either a Xavier fan or knows little about college basketball."

"This year, the Bearcats briefly allowed us to dream. Next year, the nightmares begin for the opposition."

Well, let's see. Dan Hoard writes for the official UC site. What else is he supposed to say? That Mick just stinks, these kids have quit on him, and that Mick couldn't coach a girl scout team?

I bet all the poor Big East coaches are already having nightmares about playing UC next year.

Wouldn't you?

If anyone on hear listens to Dan Hoard and Chuck on the broadcasts, they openly question something if they think UC is not doing the right thing on the court. For example: when there was about 3 minutes left in the game the other night, UC allowed DePaul to stand between the circles (for those on here that don't know what the means - it dummy terms, it is between the halfcourt line and top of the three point arc) and dribble time away without putting pressure on the ball. Dan made mention of this and Chuck and he both did not understand why Mick had the guys back off for the possession.

While I realize Dan Hoard is writing for the UC website, he has never been the type to not speak his mind about things. UC has a lot coming back (they will all have another year to work in the weight room) and a good class coming in - the people that feel Mick is not doing a good job, must have a better knowledge of basketball and for that matter, should write UC and ask to be considered for the job.

Danny C.,

I agree that Hoard usually calls them as he sees them. However, he is not going to write ANYTHING anti-Mick on Bearcats.com, the OFFICIAL UC site.

Dan Hoard is one of the better broadcasters in college basketball. He expresses his thoughts very well and does not hesitate to call the coaches out.

since the other BE coaches need wins too, I'd love having aau mick on the other side. Now that's a coaches dream!
