UC's final AP poll ranking - No. 17

UC jumped up three spots from No. 20 to No.17 in the final Associated Press football poll, which was released this morning. The Bearcats rose from No. 22 to No. 20 in the final coaches poll. It's the first time a UC football team has ever been ranked in an AP poll at the end of season. UC was one of only two Big East teams to make the final poll. The other was West Virginia, which finished sixth, just behind No. 5 Ohio State.

GO 'CATS!!! I hope this points to something building at UC. I think some recruits will notice that this team finished so high, won their bowl game, kept a coach slated by 'experts' to jump ship, attracted a quality transfer (D. Jones) and a quality local recruit (Truesdell). Now if we could just find $90 mil. to fix up Nippert we'd be set!

A nice way to cap the year with a first-ever end of the season ranking. We could have jumped up a few more spots had we had the opportunity to play a real opponent in a real bowl. Bill, any word when the Big East will be able to renegotiate some of their horrendous bowl affiliations now that Tranghese has a bit of leverage? Thx.

Yeah. If anyone has any influence with somebody who's got $90 million and wants their name attached to the upper decks of Nippert......

Don't worry. We'll get our new upper decks eventually. It may be five to ten years though before they're finished. Grrr.

Bearcats had a tremendous season.

Due to lack of "history" we probably won't be pre-season ranked unless Mauk gets his 6th year.

But if we go 4-1 without Mauk through our OOC we should have a rank in the 20-25 range.

Go Bearcats !!!

Your BareCats will never play in a major BCS bowl game. Have fun in the International Bowl next year!

Great season for the FB team. One talking head said that he thought UC was the best looking team heading into the New Year Day games.

All I know is UConn and USF really stunk it up in their bowls.

I sincerely love when AOSU (An Ohio State University) fans post on our boards. If we were no threat they wouldn't be here. I only check out boards I feel have good teams - never teams I think we're far superior to. So keep them coming, Suckeye fans!
