Georgetown 55, UC 39 - 7:45 second half

Williamson came back into the game with about 8 1/2 minutes to go. When he left the Bearcats were down by 10. When he returned they were down by 14. Adam H. has fouled out. Warren, Vaughn and Belton all have three fouls. This is pretty much over. It's been a rude slap in the face for a team that thought it was building a head of steam to make a case for an NCAA Tournament at-large berth. Georgetown will be 14-0 at home this year and 19-0 dating back to last year, but still, this has not been a good effort by UC by anyone's standards.

Hey Bill, are you going to ask Sippin' Mick about the team's offense now and in the future...finally??

I thought some said we wouldn't be mutilated like we were last year against Memphis and Ohio St. this year because we have more height? So much for that one!

And Villanova just beat UConn, so UC might well finish behind them in the conference too. Mick's team might not finish so high in the end.

But...

Mick for Coach of the Year!

I don't care what those nerds who calculate the rpi, sos and those things think...based on what i've seen on the court, UC is nowhere close to the NCAA tourny

About what I expected. I was thinking a ten point game if UC played well, but the lack of scorers on this team is the issue for any tournament they enter.

A good team guards either Williamson or Vaughn close and, barring supernatural defense by the Cats, the game is over. We definitely need a 3rd scorer to appear from somewhere.

Seems to me that our best chance for a road win will be at a banged up Pitt, IF our scorers are reasonably hot. To take 2 in the 12 team BE tourney, they definitely don't want to be one of the byes, but I don't think they have to worry about that.

Only question that we’re left with now is: Which dreams are fading faster? NCAA hopes or Mick for COY? Oh, there is one more big question: How many more years until we are no longer the second best college BB team in the city? Ouch!

If UC didn't have such a great coach, they would have lost this game by 30 instead of just 20. What a minute, the reason that they didn't lose by 30 is because Georgetown put in their scrubs to finish the game. Hear that sound? That's Pitt licking their chops?

For once I agree with you. Good to see an honest, objective evaluation. At least this game should put the ridiculous NCAA talk to rest.
