Mitchell finished for this season at least

UC freshman swingman Alvin Mitchell, who has been suspended since Feb. 15, will not return this season, Mick Cronin said today. "His indefinite suspension will last through this season," Cronin said. "Then I'll revaluate where he's at."

Good for Mick. He can recruit with the best of them so if one of them doesn't want to get in line, move on to the next.

I hope Alvin gets it together.

He has the potential to contribute next season.

Ouch. Wish I knew what was really going on with that kid. He showed promise in a couple of games, but was inconsistent (as freshman usually are).

Hope he can get his head on straight. Or if not, I hope Mick can reel in Scotty Hopson or Witherspoon!

None of us know what the issues are with Alvin Mitchell.
Many young men his age go away to college and, for whatever reason, get themselves off track.
Yes, it would be nice to see him come back and be able to contribute to UC's basketball team. But hopefully he will learn some lessons that will help him succeed beyond basketball.
That's what college and college sports are about -- not just scoring points and winning basketball games.
Sounds like the ball's in his court, so to speak. Hope he grows up like Eric Hicks did.

Personally, I'm more impressed with Larry Davis and Davis is more coachable.

Mitchell blew his chance.

Have the Cats won since Mitchell departed?

Not that he was contributing that much at gametime, but perhaps his presence at practice was a positive for the defensive preparation.

And the defense has been down the last 3 games.

I agree totally. That was the first thing I thought when Mitchell was suspended..How will this affect prep and practice-- obviously, his absence has not helped in the win column.

So I guess Alvin was one of those great in practice guys. Nice recruiting Mick.
