How did they manage to schedule 13 games?
13-0 and a BCS Bowl
The Louisville game is on ESPN2.
If you play in Hawaii, you can add a 13th game.
I you travel to Hawaii you get an extra game. NCAA did it so teams would play at Hawaii. Hawaii could never get any non conference home games of consequence.
Very difficult schedule. The Big East will be even tougher from top to bottom next year. Syracuse will be a good - not a gimme by any stretch.
11-2 at best. Probably 10-3 hopefully Gator Bowl if not BCS.
Using Sagarin's end of year ratings for 2007, UC's schedule would have averaged 67. That's fairly tough. Oklahoma is a killer. So is WVa. I thought Pitt was tough last year, so I think they'll be better. The MAC can really fool you some years.
Hawaii is no pushover.
136 - Eastern
4 - Oklahoma
116 - Miami Ohio
127 - Akron
125 - Marshall
38 - Rutgers
39 - UConn
20 - SFla
3 - West Virginia
45 - Louisville
66 - Pittsburgh
113 - Syracuse
35 - Hawaii
Hawaii is never a pushover, especially if the game is played on the islands. The suspect (very kind term) officiating at Hawaii home games is notorious. Everybody knows going over there that they will REALLY get homered, but the lure of the islands and the recruiting perk are too much to resist apparently.
UC agreed to going to Hawaii on the conditions that Big East officials did the game. So I'd be more worried about the warrior fans than the officials.
UC only agreed to play on th island if the Big East provided the officials, so the game should be legit. However, beware of the fans if you are thinking of attending.
I like the 10-3 call with Oklahoma, Pit and WVU being the Ls.
Its too early for even St CSA to predict next season's football record.
Pitt was claiming their end-of-season victory over WVa did wonders for their recruiting. They've landed major local standout Pennsylvania high schoolers, and they ended up with a highly ranked recruiting class.
They've got a qback question the same as UC.
Bill, please post more UC football stories. I think we've heard enough about the Not-In-Tournament basketball team.
Bill, please continue to post for both sports. Thanks in advance.
I personally don't see why we don't have a shot against Oklahoma. Granted its away but this team is only going to get better next year, and with the glimpses of greatness they showed last year, I think they could make a serious run at Oklahoma as well as anyone on that schedule. I'm not saying we're guranteed to do it but I think we have a legit shot.
To beat Oklahoma....just dreaming about that. It would be so great for UC football.
I'd hope/think the Okl and WVa games would be on national tv.
St. CSA even if you did predict UC football for next year you would be dead wrong. Just like you are for every UC basketball game. Nice call on Gransberry, you nailed it on the head with that one, haha.
Playing just 1 Top 25 team looks favorable for uc.
CSA,
See, they never let you forget when you're not 100% correct. Of course, your detractors are correct all of the time themselves. Right? Yeah. right...
Your Buddy
9-4 at best. Likely 8-5.
That is a tough schedule. Why on earth did UC schedule 3 non-conference games on the road? The only game that should be a road game is OK. Make Marshall and Akron travel to Nippert.
News flash: UC doesn't do all the scheduling necessarily. The Big East and ESPN influence a great deal of UC's schedule, not the AD.
If you're going to question anyone, question BE's Mike Trangese and company.
Plus ESPN pours a lot of $$ into college coffers, and in these days of cut budgets, they have a lot of influence.
Don't blame UC - look to the BE first!
Make that four non-conference road trips. Hawaii at the end of the season. How many other BCS teams have 4 road games out of conference?

Last time I checked, WVU and Oklahoma were both Top 25 teams.
Great schedule. nationally we all know we're not there yet. The three announced nationally televised games are on Thursday and Friday.
Bill, I see their home games as ALL winnable. Additionally, the Akron, Marshall, and UConn road games are very winnable.
That is a 9 win season.
If luck strikes once on the road and bad luck strikes once at home, then that cancels and we still have a 9 win season.
9-4 is an excellent season with that kind of schedule, but it's still not BCS bowl worthy, although it is probably still top 25.
Sure victories are: EKU, Miami, Akron, Marshall, Syracuse.
Probable victories are: Rutgers, SFla, & Pitt (home advantage); Louisville (away, but Petrino is gone and it shows)and UConn (away, but end of season showed they were over-rated.)
The WVa and Hawaii games are possible losses, both away games, BUT.... We played WVa close + they've lost their architect in Rodriguez. We have BE officials at Hawaii, so at least it'll be fair.
Oklahoma is a probable loss on their home turf and with their tradition.
Really hate the tough turnaround from a road trip to UConn to a Thursday game vs. USF.
Not good at all.
Anon 4:35,
Not as troublesome as one might imagine. It's a home game and likely a very chilly night. The Florida boys don't seem to adjust to the temperature change very well. Do they also have a game on October 25? If so, advantage UC. If not the quick turnaround vs. temperature difference is essentially a wash.
Apparently somebody left their counting skills at home.
