Pitt 18, UC 17 - 7:52 first half

John Williamson just ended a drought of nearly six minutes without a field goal and he's on the line for a free throw when play resumes. Vaughn has been quiet since his fast start. As usual, UC isn't getting much on offense from anyone else.

In other news:

The sun set in the west...

And Sippin' Mick's team failed to win another big game. They are now 8-7 in the Big East and could very well finish the season below .500 overall. They are already below .500 (below average) right now.

Coach of the Year to a guy with a below average team?? Please.

Meanwhile, Huggins' WVU team is absolutely mutilating DePaul AT DePaul in a key game.

This prgram has so far to go still.

The offense should concern many and either Mick has no answers on how to fix it or Bill and company are too afraid to ask him real questions about it.

I take it the last 27+ minutes were cancelled

Can't win against good Big East teams with only two real starters. I know that we don't want to admit this, but this team is at least 2 years away unless BOTH Wright and Gates are exceptional as freshman. Usually the number of impact freshman is few and most teams are fortunate to have one. Two on the same team is even more unlikely. We might have won even tonight though if Adam H. would have just boxed out on a number of Pitt stickbacks. Oh well...

Sippin' Mick Moniker Maker,

Of course Bill and Co. are too afraid to ask Mick any real questions about the offense this year or about the even more scary offense for next season. It's basically the same reason that many of our comments are never posted. They simply know which side of the bread that the butter is on. For you younger folks, it means, they will not bite the hand that feeds them and have their backs.

Think about it - this team is 8-7 in the BIG EAST! To have a record like this and have offensive issues, is pretty amazing. I continue to be amazed by people who have no understanding of college basketball. Can someone honestly tell me how you can take a team with THREE scholarship players in March of 2006 and turn them into a college basketball powerhouse - not to mention have to recruit after every single team has a full roster for the following season. If some of these posts are from "true" UC fans, it is ridiculous. It's a shame that individuals who are challenged when it comes to common sense, share their thoughts on this blog. GO BEARCATS!! If anyone wants to tag me as someone that has been fooled by Mick, go for it - I will take pride when this team is whipping people next year and the year after!

A PROUD ALUM!

Ey, first poster, uh, we beat WVU AT WVU...long way to go for us! But yeah, I agree we do have a way to go but please shut the hell up and stop being such a pessimist. Go cool off and reconsider your statements. We are not SO FAR away from being truly competitive. So bash Cronin and continue to spew stupidity stemming from your pathetic frustration. Cronin is doing a phenominal job, not coach of the year, but certainly one of the best in the Big East with a somewhat weak UC team.

So I guess this was a big game, but the other time we played Pitt wasn't? Hmmm...WVU @ WVU, UL @ UL, Pitt..those are some good wins. Mick is doing a HELL of a job with the players he was forced to take.

Maybe the members of the "Official Adam H. Fan Club" would like to tell us how he did tonight...anyone? ...anyone??

11:02-

This was a huge game because the timing/implications.

And 10:35 - they are so far away. They are a BELOW AVERAGE team as we approach the offseason leading into Mick's third year. Maybe they can make the NIT in his third year? Not sure though since Vaughn looks to be the only scorer on next year's team. Not to mention the team takes too many games off defensively.

UK and WVU appear headed to the Big Dance. Of course those teams have real coaches. UK fans say this year is a "down" year yet they could still make the tourney and even win a couple games there.

Just shows you low the expectations are for the sports teams in Cincy. UC, the Reds and Bengals are all pathetic jokes.
