UC-UConn to play Sunday

UC just announced that tonight's game at UConn has been postponed and will be played at 6 Sundady night in Storrs. The team is tentatively scheduled to fly out of Cincinnati tonight.

Are you already in Connecticut or did you get stuck in Ohio too? Seem that this should have been easily avoidable if the team would have just chartered a plane. Does UC not use charters?

Good, maybe this will give Adam H. a little more time to practice making bunnies. Also lets hope that Vaughn will show up for both halfs of the game, and not wait until the 2nd half to score all his points.

Adam H. could have a lifetime and a half and not be able to make a layup. And how can he practice MAKING bunnies? He never MAKES them, he simply feebly attempts them!

Bill or someone else.
I don't understand how the FB recruiting process works. I've read where BK has had multiple junior days at UC where it is reported that he offers some attendees scholarships.

So far, I estimate that he has offered 7+ junior QB scholarships. How does this work? If 3 QBs verbally accept his offer does he rescind his offer to the other 4+?

I know not every athlete will accept an offer and sign but how many verbal comitments can BK make to the QB position in one year?

can we just forfeit this game and move on? say UC is under-manned, or under-talented, or too tired. Anything but under-coached.

2 more games to go. 13 win season from an 11 win season.

best thing aau mick can do is keep recruiting.

For the life of me, I just don't understand why Adam H. does't just dunk the ball, instead of trying to lay it up. If he makes 1/2 of his missed layups, UC probably would have won 4 more games.

When pain is forthcoming I would prefer no delay.

Just some thoughts on bb coaches...over the last 3-4 years, (hindsight is 20/20), but UC probably should have had Bruce Pearl on their radar from the get go, Pelphry (sp?)was on the market recently and is looking good at Arkansas, if the MC experiment doesn't work out what do y'all think of UMASS coach Ford - or is his stature (height) a problem for some of you? I don't know if Knight jr. has a contract beyond this season at TTU.

Your thoughts on basketball coaches prove how diluted some Cincinnati fans are. Why would Bruce Pearl leave Tennessee to come to Cincinnati?

I went to UC, have two degrees from UC, and give big bucks to UC, but UC is not Tennessee and will never pay 2m a year to a basketball head coach. Ever.

For that matter, if UC fans are so eager to toss one of our own under the bus after what he had to work with the last two years what makes you think anyone would want to come IF Cronin would be canned, which he will not.

This comment section proves that most fans are idiots.

Bill -

What do you think of people that already want Mick out at UC? Obviously, you don't need reminding, but for people that forget, we had two scholarship players on the roster, just two years ago:

30) McGowan - only FULL scholarship player when Mick took over
23) Allen - partial scholarship
20) Brandon Miller - walk-on
51) Barwin - football scholarship
3) Downey - this was out of Mick's control - he was either following AK or going to South Carolina - not Mick's fault

There is not one coach that could have taken this group of players and been competing for a Big East championship in two years - not because the coach isn't good, but because of a lack of players to choose from for his first recruiting class.

Anon 3:44,

Those were some very good possibilities at the time. And, certainly, there were other options. But we have to keep in mind that picking the best coach for the BB program was not the first priority. Possibly, picking the coach that would rub Huggins the most was. And look where that got us! To four in a row and counting...

to "The Shadow Knows" not. If we never were going to pay the FB Coach at UC $1.5MM (like UC is now paying BK), why wouldn't UC pay the BB coach $2MM? The Shadow Knows not!

THE SHADOW KNOWS -

I agree - if people are going to throw Mick under the bus after two years and after inheriting a program that basically had the death penalty, then they are not real fans. Did I think this season was going to be better once we started winning in conference play? Yes, but I also knew there was no way this team was going to make the NCAA tourney. I hope folks will reevaluate the way they think and come back to reality. This team will compete and will win a lot more next year, but the NCAA tourney is most likely, two years away.

The first priority of The University of Cincinnati is to continue to educate their students to be competent and fair citizens and to continue as the No.1 employer in Cincinnati.

Thanks Nancy! But we already know how you feel about UC athletics.

Yeah, she hates UC athletics so much she helped come up with the money to keep BK.

Something has to compensate for the HUGE amount of revenue that is now missing from mens basketball sales over the past three seasons. And, likely for a few more years. Nancy could not care less about athletics, except for the financial aspects of it all.
